# Products

The **Products** tab in your Jane [Business Dashboard](https://business.iheartjane.com) puts you in full control of what your customers see on your menu. From product details to availability and pricing, everything you need to fine-tune your store’s menu lives right here.

Simply select a specific store by clicking the **Products** tab here.

In this article, we'll cover:

* [Main Page Overview](#main-page-overivew)
* [Managing Products](#managing-products)
  * [Hide products or specific weights from your Jane Menu](#to-quickly-hide-a-product-on-your-menu)
  * [Hide or make products visible in bulk](#making-items-hidden-or-visible-with-bulk-actions)

## Main Page Overview

On the main **Products** page, you'll find a full list of your available menu products and the following details:

\- the number of published and visible SKUs available at this location of your Jane menu\
\- an easy toggle to view hidden or non-published items\
\- filters for brands, categories, custom rows, and more

Most of the columns on this page can be clicked to sort or filter items for easy viewing.

<figure><img src="/files/koS0go5ypDNGAWssKyRy" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can use the search bar to locate a specific item by name. This search also gives you the ability to look up products by SKU or Jane Product ID.

<figure><img src="/files/CN6teTLDQluavSgUvrsV" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Ready to manage your menu content? Let's explore those options below.

## Managing Products

### Product Visibility

**Need to hide a product from showing on your menu?**

You can simply toggle the **Visible** button to quickly adjust a single product to be hidden from your Jane menu.

<figure><img src="/files/2vvdkWaSgpwa3WorjL72" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once hidden, you can always find your item by moving to the **Hidden** tab up top and re-toggling to visible.

<figure><img src="/files/orTLngiZKU3z1nSuNqoD" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Need to hide a specific weight variant for a product?**

Occasionally, you need to only hide specific weights of a product. For example let's say you have one strain of flower but available in 8ths, quarters, 1/2 ounce and a full ounce, but you don't want to sell the 8th or 1/2 ounce online. No problem! Click on the product from the Products page and the editor will pop up. Scroll to the bottom and tag visible/hidden the weights you would like to adjust.<br>

<figure><img src="/files/Va6FE8zcMxhR9cqjB6mJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

If you are unsure if you have products with hidden weights, you can click on the 'Hidden Weights' filter, and then click into each item to ensure all weights are visible.

<figure><img src="/files/xDatPvounvp4ewXIVlrB" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Bulk Hide or Un-Hide Products

Sometimes it's not just one item you need to hide or make visible. Using the bulk edit tool on the Products page makes this a simple task. Here's a quick gif to walk you through these actions.

<figure><img src="/files/emvfkdwNp5ZQM6nroI1s" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can also find a select all or none option in the top right hand corner if choosing products in bulk.<br>

<figure><img src="/files/zwEacZzKWFEwk8s1DTte" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Product Editor

What product details can you edit in Jane? The product name, brand subtype, description, lineage, lab results and photos are all editable within the product editor.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Keep in mind we generally pull your product information from your point of sale. If you'd like for us to pull any of the following items to save you time, let us know at <partnersuccess@iheartjane.com> (options may vary per POS).
{% endhint %}

To edit a product, simply click on it from the page which will pull up the editor.

<figure><img src="/files/J3vEShhSLeTIbng9bNM2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Above, you'll see a lot of fields you can adjust like: \
\
\- Product Name\
\- Lineage\
\- Brand Subtype\
\- Description\
\
Any changes that you make here will be saved the next time this product appears back on your menu. Check out the **revert** option to give you a clue that the product name has been overwritten from the Jane standard naming. \
\
We can see lab results just below this:

<figure><img src="/files/VK9uinta6Li9EsGWKd1C" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Again, it is important to note that if Jane is pulling product descriptions, lineage, and/or THC % from your point of sale, this information will **automatically revert** back when we pull from your POS if edited in the Business Dashboard.
{% endhint %}

### Adding Photos

Have some great product photos on site you'd like to use? You can always upload these in right in Jane. We'll remember these as well, so your photos will stick even if they go on and off the menu.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
For most teams, we will pull the images directly from your POS - so keep that in mind if you're not sure where an image came from.
{% endhint %}

Once you've selected the product to adjust, scroll to the images section and choose **Custom**.

You'll see images listed as:\
\- Jane Catalog - meaning the image came from our database\
\- Custom - meaning the image came from your POS or was manually uploaded into Jane via the Business Dashboard<br>

<figure><img src="/files/V6Dl6vvmZ6D4udWGUwa8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can upload multiple photos. We love to see images around 1000x1000 pixels for the best presentation, so that is required during upload.&#x20;

## Self-Publishing Options

#### Sorry, self-publish what?

The **Jane Product Publisher** is a tool that lets you instantly push products to your menu yourself. Think of it as a shortcut for getting items live when Jane doesn't have a matching SKU in our catalog.

{% hint style="info" %}
A quick but important distinction: self-publishing creates a product card using only the data pulled from your POS. It's *not* the same as being mapped to a Jane SKU. **We recommend using the Product Publisher primarily for gear and merchandise** - items that may not live in the Jane Catalog. For cannabis items, we'll still retroactively map self-published products to Jane SKUs whenever possible.
{% endhint %}

⚡ **Heads up on gear & merch**: By default, we don't map gear or merchandise items to the Jane Catalog, so self-publishing is typically the right move. The exception: if the gear or merch is from one of our [**certified brands**](#certified-brand-whats-that) (including our growing roster of non-cannabis certified brands), we will automatically map it. More on certified brands below.

💡 **Why Jane SKUs matter**: Products mapped to the Jane Catalog show up with richer content, product reviews, rank better in search and recommendations, and unlock brand-funded promotions like [Jane Gold](/partner-success/men-you/i-love-gooooold.md) and [digital merchandising](/partner-success/men-you/digital-merchandising.md) that self-published cards can't access. When in doubt, let Jane map – it leads to higher product conversion!

{% hint style="info" %}
Newly added items will hit the Jane Product Publisher as they come in and it will refresh every day at 12am EST to remove any unpublished items that are lingering without any active inventory.
{% endhint %}

### How to use the Product Publisher

Head to the **Products** tab in your Jane Business Dashboard and click into **Unpublished**. From there, you can click into any product to review and edit its product card before publishing.

<figure><img src="/files/ymqTkX7c5Fgrcez1rizo" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Under the **Status** column, you'll see one of three labels:

* **Publishing**: Products that are being added to your menu. If a product is out of stock in your POS, it'll wait in this status until inventory is back.
* **Unpublished**: Products we couldn't match to Jane's catalog or publish on iheartjane.com. These can still go live on your menu via self-publishing, as long as there's enough info from your POS.
* [**Invalid Data**](#invalid-data-products): Products missing the details we need to publish confidently. To get these mapped, add the missing info (flagged in the Product Clarification column) to the product's name in your POS.

To publish an unpublished product, click into the item, review what we pulled from your POS, make any edits, and hit **Publish**.

<figure><img src="/files/5YiAfHSlgPz49lzH4Dyv" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Need to do this at scale? From the **Unpublished** page, select **Bulk Edit** to choose all or specific items to publish at once.

<figure><img src="/files/vC6TtUcu058Sf3AXSkOh" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

From here, you can select all or specific items to publish.

<figure><img src="/files/gmXcbqSlijwfQWaA3AMa" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Reminder: The Jane Product Publisher resets everyday at 12am EST to remove any unpublished products that are out of stock.
{% endhint %}

### Turning on Auto-Publish

With the product publisher, you have the option to **manually publish** each item or you can turn on the **auto-publish** feature for items to automatically hit the menu from the "unpublished" category.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
Our team strongly recommends **only** auto-publishing **gear** or **merchandise**, if desired. If you're interested in other categories, please chat with your Jane Partner Success Manager first.
{% endhint %}

You can manage these settings under the **Manage Auto-Publish** button.<br>

<figure><img src="/files/Nn20RD9EECygjTKOETJO" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once selected, you can choose specific categories that you would like to auto-publish or allow for all products to hit the menu.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/r59uwhLmtrn58sOULbCP" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Invalid Data Products

Products flagged as **Invalid Data** will have a note in the Product Clarification column telling you exactly what's missing or unclear. In most cases, this means something like strain, subtype, weight, pack size, or dosage needs to be added to the product name **in your POS**.

<figure><img src="/files/7RaOVbxMmRAwip8hqjqv" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="success" %}
**The recommended path**: Update the product name in your POS. Once you do, the new name flows to Jane automatically, and we'll map it to the correct SKU in our catalog — no further action needed from you. This keeps the product eligible for all Jane Catalog benefits (brand content, reviews, Jane Gold, digital merchandising, etc.)
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**The self-publish path**: If you'd rather not update the POS, you can self-publish the product directly from the unpublished product editor. Just know the tradeoff: self-published invalid-data products won't be retroactively mapped to a Jane SKU, which means they miss out on brand-verified content and may be excluded from Jane Gold and digital merchandising opportunities, as well as consumer reviews and data analytics.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/WRYwIwTOGLjyPYF2q1OQ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**TL;DR**: Whenever possible, *fix it at the POS*. That's how you get the full Jane experience.

{% endhint %}

#### Certified Brand, What's That?

Certified brands actively manage their own product portfolio in the Jane Catalog with verified content and imagery. Because their SKUs are carefully curated, our team takes extra precautions to make sure your products map to the right one.

If a product from a certified brand is flagged as **Invalid Data**, please add the clarifying details (strain, size, dosage, etc.) to the product name in your POS rather than self-publishing. That way we can get it matched to the correct SKU and you'll get the full benefit of the brand's verified content on your menu.

A couple of things worth knowing:

* Our certified brand roster now includes non-cannabis brands, too, so some gear and merchandise from certified brands *will* exist in the Jane Catalog and get mapped automatically (unlike most gear/merch, which doesn't map by default).
* Many brands carry multiple specialized product lines or subtypes. Be sure to include these details using the brand's exact verbiage in your POS naming — that's how we make sure each product maps to the right SKU (and not a close-but-wrong one).
  * For example, Select's BRIQ disposable line includes both an "Elite" and "Essentials" version so these variations would need to be included in the product’s name in your POS in order to be mapped to the correct SKU on Jane.

### Editing Published Products

Mistakes happen, we get it! If you need to edit a product that you published, you'll see some new tools in your Jane Products tab to make this simple for you.&#x20;

Head to the **Products** tab in your Jane Business Dashboard. From here, you can use the filter for content and choose **Store defined** which will show you all products that have been self-defined or self-published.

<figure><img src="/files/th9AQU6jHrlZx8lJGrEf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Simply click into any product to make the required changes, and don't forget to press **Save**!

### Archiving Products

Sometimes a product comes along that you might never want on your menu. No worries here, you can always archive a product. This will remove the product from your Unpublished list but can always be retrieved at a later date in case you choose to add it to the menu.&#x20;

There are a couple of different ways to archive a product.

To archive a product, you can simply click into an item and then select **Archive**. <br>

<figure><img src="/files/ef59ZBNEUUgyvMnndfhe" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can also archive in bulk from **Unpublished** page by selecting **Bulk Edit**.

<figure><img src="/files/vC6TtUcu058Sf3AXSkOh" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

From here, you can select all or specific items to archive.

<figure><img src="/files/loBl4WjkTUtz4yWTK9Rd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
